Joanna graduated from the university of New Mexico with a bachelors in Dental Hygiene in May of 2008.
Before moving to WI in October of 2018, she worked in a private practice office with the same Dentist for over 10 years!
Joanna has been married to a traveling nurse for over 12 years! They have 5 children and a mini schnauzer who enjoys watching the traffic and people who walk by her house.
She has a lot of hobbies! She enjoys sewing, knitting, cooking, and reading. In the summer she loves camping and boating!
Lauren was a Dental assistant here at Sparta Dental Center from 2006 – 2008, and then her ambition led her to return to school for Dental Hygiene. She is a 2010 graduate from Western Technical College in LaCrosse where she received her Associates Degree in Applied Science. Lauren attends annual hygiene meetings and continuing education courses, is licensed to provide local anesthetic, provides non surgical gum disease treatments, and coordinates patients seeking orthodontic care with our doctors or an orthodontic specialist. Lauren’s hometown is Sparta, where she currently resides with her husband Eric and their three children. Ask Lauren to recommend a good book, as she is our avid reader in the office, and she enjoys spending time with her family!
Tia’s hometown is Sparta where she currently resides with her husband, Bryan. She has three sons, and a grandson. Tia graduated from Sparta High School in 1992 and attended Western Technical college of LaCrosse where she received her degree in Dental Assisting in 1996. Tia joined Sparta Dental Center in 2011. While working with us, she also went back to school to earn her degree to practice dental hygiene. She has extensive clinical knowledge in several areas of dentistry, is excellent and patient with children, and is our office expert on TMJ pain and discomfort. She enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, watching her grandson, and scrapbooking.
Danielle lives in Bangor, WI with her husband Travis, stepson Clayton, and daughter Madelyn. Danielle has 19 years of dental experience and gradated in Dec 2017 with her Healthcare Management degree from Viterbo University. Danielle attends yearly hygiene meetings, is licensed to give dental anesthetic, and is proficient in the use of our soft tissue laser for gum disease treatment. She is passionate about her patient’s care… and will even often come in on her days off to see for her patients! In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and watching Madelyn on the soccer pitch with her Rush team.
Tess has been practicing hygiene for over 17 years and loves it. Tess graduated from Wausau Technical College in 2003. She lives in Sparta with her husband Bill and two sons Tristan and Trygve. Most of Tess’s extra time is spent on the shore of Lake Superior where her camper sits. She spends weekends tent camping and hiking in the U.P. of Michigan. Tess is also involved with the Special Olympics, Give Kids A Smile days and has worked with pediatric specialists.
Christina was born in Freeport, Illinois and currently resides in Ettrick, Wisconsin with her husband Don. Christina has eleven years of dental assisting experience, and has been with Sparta Dental Center since 2011. Prior to coming to Sparta Dental Center, she worked for 7 years in oral surgery. Christina also has over 10 years of experience working in the medical field. Christina now works as our office manager, helping implement faster and better ways to process insurance claims, referrals, and payment arrangements for our patients. Her clinical knowledge, combined with her administrative skills, make her a powerful resource for our patients. In her spare time, Christina enjoys hunting and spending time with her two children, family and friends.
Krista has almost 30 years of experience working in the dental field. She has brought an extensive knowledge of insurance processing and account management to Sparta Dental Center. Krista spends hours a week behind the scenes, following up with insurance companies to get claims processed. She resides in Sparta with her husband Darrell.
Jen grew up in Stanley, WI and now resides in Onalaska with her husband, Kurt, daughters, Kylie and Becka and two Morkies, Olive and Andy. Jen attended Western Technical College where she graduated with honors with a Dental Assisting degree in 2015. After 6 years of dental assisting she moved into an administrative position, and works with service techs to make sure our office is always running in tip-top shape. Jen also enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, camping, playing cards, and watching the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers. During her spare time she loves to craft and help her daughter make jewelry.
Rita joined us with almost 15 years dental experience. Rita is originally from Minnesota and currently resides in Cashton. She enjoys watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings but we don’t hold that against her. Rita spends her weekends 4wheeling, camping and spending time with friends and family. She is one of the few people we know that has a functioning outhouse (at her cabin).
Lacey is from Tomah WI, and currently lives there with her husband Ike, their son Asher and their two pups Denali and Sadie.
Lacey comes to us with four years of dental assisting experience. She enjoys working with patients and getting to know them.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, camping and playing outside with her pups.
Laura was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. She currently resides in Sparta with her fiancé Dan & daughter Georgia. Laura graduated from Sparta High School in 1999 and then enrolled at Western Technical College in La Crosse to pursue a technical degree in Dental Assisting as well as an associate’s degree in the Administrative Professional program. She has been employed at Sparta Dental Center since 2012, and excels as a surgical and prosthetic assistant. She does all of the supply ordering for our office and received an award in 2020 from Patterson Dental for her keen skills in this area. In her spare time, Laura enjoys spending time with her family and gardening. Together, they enjoy camping, canoeing, fishing, hiking, Badger games, and living life to its fullest! Laura embraces life with positivity and will do anything to put a smile on her daughter’s face.
Marybeth grew up in the small town of Thorp, WI. She currently lives in Black River Falls with her Boyfriend Trent and Yorkie Riley.
For the past 5 years, Marybeth has been a Dental Assistant. She loves working with patients and getting to put a smile on their face again!
In her free time she loves to travel with her boyfriend and dog. She also loves spending time with family and being outdoors!
Jayla recently graduated from the Western Technical College Dental Assistant program in April 2023. She is excited to expand her knowledge in dentistry. She enjoys working with, and is excited, to form relationships with patients in the office.
Jayla currently resides in her home town, Melrose. In her free time she likes to hunt, fish, and babysit. She also coaches softball and loves to spend time with her family and her friends.
Scarlett grew up in the Cataract area and graduated in 2022 from Sparta High School. She now resides in Sparta with her 2 dogs, Scarlett and Honey.
Scarlett has been with us for just over a year and a half. She plans on going to hygiene school in the future.
Macy grew up in Cataract, WI. She currently resides in Sparta, WI with her high school sweetheart Mark and their daughter Maddie. Family time is very important to Macy. She enjoys boating, fishing and camping- basically anything outdoors.
Macy has a background in healthcare, in which she hopes to share her knowledge. She is eager to learn more about dentistry and is up for any challenge.
Karla joins Sparta Dental Center with a background in Early Childhood education. She grew up in Janesville, WI, and moved to Sparta after getting married. She has two daughters.
Karla enjoys 4-wheeling, watching movies, and photography. Karla really loves seeing all of the kids come in on our Kids’ day!
